FAQ
What is the background of “Dr. Guy” and how long has he been practicing?
“Dr. Guy” grew up in the Bay Area and went to St. Mary’s College of CA. He then went to Creighton School of Medicine in Omaha, NE and moved on to his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Providence St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Portland, OR. He has been practicing medicine in Sonoma County since 1999. The majority of his career was spent caring for ill patients at Memorial Hospital. In January 2017 he opened his “concierge practice” in Sonoma and it has become a destination for excellence in medical care. He is Board Certified and was voted by his peers as a top physician in his specialty two years in a row.
What are the key benefits to seeing “Dr. Guy” as your concierge doctor?
Dr. Guy keeps his practice very small; with less than 300 patients, Dr. Guy and his staff are able to provide the best quality and highest level of service possible.
What insurance do you accept? Do you take Medicare patients?
We are contracted with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Cigna, Blue Shield of California, Health Net, United Healthcare PPO plans and Medicare. We are not contracted with any HMO lines of business.
What can you expect when you come to visit “Dr. Guy?”
Easy parking just steps away from the office on the ground floor, a warm welcome by professional staff, to be offered a drink or snack, no wait, see Dr. Guy every office visit instead of a less highly trained professional, nearly unlimited time with your physician who has time to listen, address all your questions and develop a personalized care plan with you.
Do I assume my results are good if I don’t hear back from the office?
We do NOT ascribe to the old adage, “no news is good news.” Our office staff notifies every patient with every lab, X-ray and other test result and develops the appropriate next step based on those results. Our approach decreases the chance for errors and delayed diagnoses and ultimately leads to a higher quality of care. If you do not hear from us within five days of a test being performed, we appreciate your help by calling us to let us know it was done so we can obtain the result and review it with you.
How does your office maintain financial sustainability when seeing “one-tenth” of the usual patients an internist has to see?
Our patients pay an annual membership fee which helps support our practice. This added revenue stream allows us to see a tenth of the usual patients and therefore we see eight patients a day on average – this allows us to fulfill the promises we make to you as a patient.
How much is the Annual Membership Fee?
Membership fees are payable in full at the start of membership, fees are paid annually, and the fees are non-refundable.
